Tomboy Style

THIS week my ankle boot obsession continues with a cowboy influence and some beer! The lovely thing about ankle boots with a touch of the wild west is they work well all year round. Team them with skinny jeans in the winter and denim cut-off shorts in the summer. Also opting for a shade other than black can stop everything looking too severe, it’s all too easy to head to the dark side when it’s cold, but styling up your outfit with tan or brown boots and a tan handbag will lift the look, making it all a bit more interesting.

I’ve gone for my usual tomboy aesthetic with these boots, some skinny black jeans, a loose fit white v-neck t-shirt, a chunky knit beanie and a tan leather handbag. Not only is this outfit clean and simple visually, it’s really comfortable and relaxed. Plus this look would easily work with a tan, sunshine and palm trees in the background (minus the beanie). There’s no reason why you should have two totally different styles for Spring/Summer and then Autumn/Winter. Look at what you would normally wear then add or take away layers depending on the weather. It’s simple really because the best style is simple.

ClothesLeather ankle boots from Teva (these boots are extremely comfortable – it’s like wearing slippers), white v-neck t-shirt from Matalan (the fit on this tee is amazing, I’m going to order a ton of these – I might have actually found the ultimate white jersey t-shirt!!!), black skinny jeans from G-Star, tan leather bag by Rufus Country, black bandana is vintage, leather cuff is vintage, grey knit beanie is from New Look (it did have a bobble on it but I cut that off), pirate necklace from My Name Necklace, anchor pendant from Muru, D necklace by Dior, crystal necklace from Maison Scotch.

Interior: Day bed from John Lewis, antlers are antique, ‘Vogue’ car badge is vintage (from a Singer Vogue), cinematic light box from Hurn & Hurn, all photography & artwork is my own.
