ON Friday I went along to the NEC Classic Motor Show with my Dad to look at some beautiful cars and motorcycles. We’re both big petrol heads and I had a few meetings set-up so we spent the whole day there.
Those of you who have been to the NEC will know it’s massive and the Classic Motor Show takes up 5 halls so it’s a big event. It probably would have been better to go for two days, because we missed a fair bit and I would have liked to have gone back to some of my favourite cars to have another look. But we had a great time and would definitely go again. In fact I’d love to take our Skull & Pistons custom cruiser to the NEC, there was nothing else like it and it would be good to introduce something different into an industry that can’t be a bit “safe” visually and design-wise.
My favourite car of the day was a Mercedes Benz 280 ss 3.5, it was an absolute beauty. In fact it’s gone straight to the top of my ‘car list’ (the official tally in my mind of cars I want in my life) along with Eleanor and a 1970 Chevy Nova. Personally I would lower the 280 ss, but that’s the only thing I’d change.
Here is my pick of the rest, there were so many others – far too many to take photos of everything. But I singled out some great classic vehicles with fantastic details…
Thank you Dad for coming along to the NEC with me!
